C'est ce qu'a déclaré Luc Chatel devant le Conseil supérieur de l'éducation, jeudi 10 décembre. Malgré la polémique sur la place de l'histoire en terminale scientifique, le ministre de l'éducation nationale a prévenu les partenaires de l'école que la réforme s'appliquerait bien à la rentrée 2010. L'instance consultative a dégagé une majorité en faveur de trois des quatre grands textes mis au vote (classe de seconde, autonomie des établissements, orientation). Celui sur les classes de 1ère et terminale a recueilli 22 pour, 22 contre, 13 abstentions et 7 refus de vote. Le même jour, le Haut Conseil de l'éducation (HCE) a rendu public son avis sur le sujet. Il suggère de "rétablir les mathématiques en tant qu'enseignement obligatoire en classe de 1ère L" afin de ménager des débouchés plus larges aux littéraires. En revanche, il ne s'émeut pas de la place de l'histoire en S. Il propose même de conforter le niveau scientifique de la série, en renforçant l'horaire de mathématiques.
