Ile-de-France : Mme Pécresse face à une "chercheuse en lutte" - Le Monde

On refait le match ? Près d'un an après le mouvement historique d'universitaires et de chercheurs, deux des figures majeures de ces quatre mois de crise vont se retrouver face à face aux élections régionales de mars 2010.

A droite, Valérie Pécresse, ministre de l'enseignement supérieur et de la recherche et tête de liste de l'UMP en Ile-de-France. A gauche, Isabelle This-Saint-Jean, ancienne présidente de l'association Sauvons la recherche (SLR) et l'une des candidates d'ouverture à la société civile du Parti socialiste.

Pendant la crise universitaire, cette professeure des universités de 46 ans était de tous les cortèges et de toutes les délégations, aux côtés de leaders syndicaux et de son alter ego de l'association Sauvons l'université, Jean-Louis Fournel. Spécialiste de l'épistémologie de l'économie à l'université Paris-XIII, la "pasionaria" du printemps universitaire a décidé de descendre dans l'arène politique. Suivant là le chemin tracé par Bertrand Monthubert, son prédécesseur à la tête de SLR, devenu secrétaire national du PS chargé des dossiers de la recherche et de l'enseignement supérieur.

"J'ai hésité avant d'accepter cette proposition, avoue Mme This-Saint-Jean. J'ai toujours été très impliquée, mais je privilégiais jusqu'à présent un engagement professionnel dans mon métier d'enseignant-chercheur. C'est pour cela que j'étais devenue en décembre 2008 présidente de Sauvons la recherche."

"SITUATION DÉGRADÉE"

Après une année "très exposée" à la tête de SLR, la militante déplace son combat sur le terrain politique : "J'ai le sentiment que le moment est venu, car la situation générale s'est dégradée."
